MirrorTalk and M2 (Mirror) - recent release details
 

March 18th, 2025

 

Today M2 major 5.0.0 update has been released for all platforms: Web, Mobile apps, and M2 robot OM.5.0.0.2963  

 

Additional details in the 5.0.0 released version:

• In‑Ear Participant Summaries are now teacher‑controlled (vs student‑controlled)
  • During an M2 session, the teacher triggers In‑Ear Participant Summaries by a single short press on the Primary Remote “REC/Ask M2” button (or single tap on the on‑screen Ask M2 button)
  • If student remotes with headphones are connected, that single press sends the current In‑Ear Participant Summary to all student remotes in the language set during Activity Setup.
• Group types & access cleanup. In the Create group modal, the Access dropdown now only shows:
  • Login Full Dashboard
  • Session
  • Open / Login Limited / Login Opt to Share no longer appear as choices.
  • Session access is also enabled for Adult and HE group types
• Updated paywall & subscriptions:
  • We’ve simplified subscriptions to 2 tiers: Free and M2 (paid):
  • PRO subscription: All existing PRO users were migrated to M2 subscription, their expiration date:
    • prolonged till Jun 30, 2026, if it expires earlier than this date;
    • remain as it was if its expiration date is later than the mentioned date.
    • Removed from Team Admin UI (no new PRO assignments).
  • We are giving users the ability to trial M2 with this big update, M2 Trial reset and extension:
    • All M2 Trial users have trial reset with a unified expiration – no Free users before 30.06.2026
    • Imported to a team Free users are automatically switched to M2 Trial
    • (later, the new limits for free users will be implemented)
  • Team Admin subscription controls:
    • Plan dropdown on User Management is read‑only for now
• Student Reflections/Assignments are now only available on web and have been removed from Mobile/M2 robot

Today we released MirrorTalk Web 4.5.2 version:

• updated System Prompt and related Teacher scoring prompts - fixing how the scoring system works
• Ask M2 prompt during Small Group Guides - which allows M2 to stay "on topic"

What’s new in the latest 0.25.0.34 & 0.25.0.36 (different users may get one of these 2 versions, but they are the same) released today:
 

• Reliable time synchronization with added sequential fallback
  • Keeps time in sync, prevents uploading failures due to time synchronization issues.
  • Network checks on “Check Network Screen” have been added to verify connection to all supported time servers.
•  Accessibility Support
  • Text to speech and Talkback
  • Ability to adjust Display and Text Size for the vision impaired
  • Available in the “About” Screen
• Pause Tracking in the Zoom Application
  • User presses and holds the center D-pad button for at least 1 second
  • Pause tracking will occur after the user releases the center Dpad button.

• New Customize options for Team admins: Rubric Builder allows Team administrators to customize the criteria used in M2’s feedback during and after teacher activities.

Today we released MirrorTalk Web 4.3.0 and M2 device app M2 app 4.3.0.2624 and Android app (iOS on it's way in review). What's new:

  • mode options for Whole Group / Small group
  • also new Instructional Strategy activity for Whole group
  • Adjustable time slider for group activities
• Few fixes to Observation tips

• Group Guide templates descriptions expanded before launch:
  • Project description now includes a short description of each direction students will see while going through the flow.
  • Updated description in Practice to list materials for better clarity
• Transcript Accuracy: Addressed an issue where, during periods of silence, M2 would insert unnecessary commands into the transcript.
