How Can I Create a Group?
1. Navigate to the 'Personal' Section:
Hover your cursor over the 'Personal' section to expand the list of options.
2. Select '+ New'
From the expanded list, click on the '+ New' option.
3. In the group creation form that appears:
- Enter the name of your group
- Specify the grade for your group
4. Select the Access Type
Choose one of the following access types for your group:
- Login - Full Dashboard: Participants and Manager get full dashboard access.
- Login - Limited Dashboard: Participants see understanding score and lesson.
- Session: Participate by name only. No email is required.
- Open: Participate with no name. Video required.
5. Choose the language
Select the preferred language for the group from tha available options.
6. Select recording options
Decide what you want to record during reflections:
- Audio
- Video
7. Enable or Disable the Pre-Reflection Greetings
Toggle the pre-reflection greeting on or off based on your preferences.
8. Save your Group
Click on 'Create' to save your new group with the specified settings.
9. Invite Group Managers
Invite unlimited 'Group Managers' (co-teachers, coaches, administrators, mentors, etc.) to view your dashboard and collaborate on participant data. Share insights effortlessly with a unique invite link, fostering a more collaborative approach to achieving success through reflection.How Can I Manage a Group Dashboard ?
Once you've created a group, you can manage what you see on its dashboard. Choose trends to see how group participants are doing on Reflection, Zone, Mindset, and Tone scores - learn the meaning of each score here. You can also regulate the metrics by selecting the activities, whom and during which time period you wish to see.
You can also use the filters to check the reflections of either everyone or a specific group participant during the selected time frame.
Note: In order to have these metrics appear on the group dashboard, you need to assign at least two reflections to the group - learn more about how to assign and share reflections to Groups reflections: 📖 Learn How to Assign/Share Reflections to Groups.
How Can I Change the Name of a Group?
1. Select the Group
Locate the group you wish to rename from the list. Hover over the name of the group you are currently working with.
2. Access Group Settings
- Click on the three dots button in the upper-right corner of the page.
- From the dropdown menu, select the 'Settings' option.
3. Edit the Group name
In the settings menu, enter the new name for your group in the provided field.
4. Save the Changes
Click 'Save' to confirm and apply the new group name.
How Can I Delete a Group?
1. Select the Group
Locate the group you wish to delete from the list. Hover over the name of the group you are currently working with.
2. Acces Group Options
- Click on the three dots button in the upper-right corner of the page.
- From the dropdown menu, select the 'Delete Group' option.
3. Confirm Deletion
- A confirmation prompt will appear.
- Click 'Delete' to permanently remove the group
How Can I Edit the Name of the Student?
1. Select the Group
Choose the group you are working with from the list.
2. Open 'Manage Participants'
Click on the 'Manage Participants' option in the three dots menu located at the top right of your screen.
3. Find the student
- Sort the participants by name to easily locate the student
- Click on the three dots next to the name you want to edit on the right side of the list.
4. Edit the name
Update the student's name in the provided field.
5. Save changes
Press Save to confirm and apply the updated name.

Observational Recording as Part of the Workspace Activity in Group
1. To create a workspace activity which includes observational recording for one of your groups, select the group that you wish to assign this activity to by selecting the arrow at the top of the M2 screen.
2. Here you can either choose an existing Group or, if you want to create a new Group, select "+ Group".
3. You will then be prompted to create a group - you can do so by following the steps described here: How Can I Create a Group. Once ready, select "Create".
4. You will then be redirected to this Group's Dashboard. To set up a reflection for this Group, select "New".
5. You will then be redirected to Library, where you can either select the reflection or set it up your self by clicking "Custom".
6. Learn how to set up the reflection in this article in the MirrorTalk tab. Once done, press assign.
7. You will then be prompted to select participants for this reflection. Once you enter the names of all of the participants, you may give the M2 to the first participant and they can start reflecting by pressing "Start" button.
8. Once the participant starts the reflection, they will be presented with all the steps that you preselected, including the observational recording step.
9. Then, the participant will be prompted to reflect.
10. Once the participant presses done, their reflection along with observational recording will be visible on the Group Dashboard.

How Can I Use Group Workspace?
The Workspace in M2 is a place where you and your students can focus on specific activities while having the opportunity to analyze and reflect on their practice afterward.
Below is a visual example of how you, as a teacher, can customize the Workspace and reflection for your students. This demonstration shows the setup on mirrortalk.ai, which is identical to the setup on the M2 device.
Please note that while you can configure the Workspace on both mirrortalk.ai and the M2 device, the Workspace feature itself can only be used on the M2 device, not on the website.
1. Log In and Select Your Group
After logging in, navigate to the group for which you want to customize the workspace. Once you've selected the group, you can choose a reflection from the Library or click the Custom button.
2. Write or record an Objective
Clearly define the objective for this reflection. You can either write it out or use the recording feature for convenience.
3. Choose Format and Focus
Next, select the desired Format and Focus for your reflection. These options help tailor the experience to your needs.4. Select the Workspace
Click on Workspace to begin customization.Adding a workspace to a reflection means the reflection can only be completed on the M2 device. At this point, the purple Assign button changes to Return to Dashboard.
5. Assign the Reflection
You’re now ready to assign the reflection. Simply use the M2 device to complete this step.M2 Reflection Workspace
Turn on the M2 device and navigate to the Library, where the reflection you created is saved. You can modify the reflection directly on the M2 device, allowing for quick adjustments to suit the needs of your small group learning session. This ensures flexibility and adaptability during your activities.
After clicking the Assign button, select the participants for the Group Reflection. Once you've chosen who will participate, press Start to begin the session. Below, you can see an example of a completed reflection. When the Reflection is finished, click the Exit button located in the top-left corner. After exiting, you can view the completed reflection both on the M2 device and on mirrortalk.ai for further review.
