M2

M2 Subscription Types

Overview

M2 offers two subscription types: Free and M2 (paid). This article explains what each includes, how they work within teams, and what happens when a user’s subscription status changes.

Free Subscription

The Free plan gives individual users access to M2 with the following capabilities:

  • One agent — the general agent (session-based), which is available by default
  • Unlimited activities — no cap on the number of activities you can run
  • Full AI features — including live tips, feedback, and M2 chat, within the general agent
  • No ability to create additional agents — the “New Agent” button is not available on the Free plan

Free users who are not part of a team operate independently with the general agent only.

M2 Subscription (Paid)

The M2 subscription is a team-based plan. It unlocks the full product experience, including:

  • Multiple agents — create and configure agents with custom rubrics, coherence prompts, and focus areas
  • Full agent customization — set rubric selections, agent focus, activity settings, and more
  • Team features — access to teams-within-teams structure, group management, and coach/leader roles
  • Admin insights — usage data, aggregate reporting, and organizational rubric tracking
  • Chunk-based feedback reports — activity feedback broken into scored, reviewable chunks

Paid seats are managed at the team level by a leader (formerly “admin”). Coaches can also manage subscription tiers within their group, though this may be restricted to leaders in a future update.

Free Users Within a Team

When a free user joins a paid team, the following applies:

  • Their general agent is frozen — they work only within the team’s structure
  • They inherit the team’s data deletion policy rather than the standard free-user policy
  • They gain the ability to create new agents, and utilize their team’s rubrics and prompts

What Happens When a User is Downgraded

If a paid user is downgraded to Free (e.g., a seat is removed):

  • Their previous agents are frozen — accessible in read-only mode
  • A new general agent is created for them automatically
  • The user can still view old activity content but cannot comment, add new activities, or use AI features within frozen agents
