CX Robot + M2 App Integration

Teachers can now launch the M2 app directly from the Swivl Capture interface while connected to a Swivl CX Series Robot. This creates a smoother classroom workflow: the Robot handles audio, video can be recorded during the session, and M2 app provides real-time AI guidance.

What this integration does

With this integration, you can launch M2 from the Swivl Capture app, use the CX Robot as the main audio source, record video during the session, and receive real-time AI guidance all in one flow. Recordings are saved as evidence, just like regular M2 recordings.

Before you start

Make sure your CX Robot is powered on and connected in the Swivl Capture app, M2 is installed on your device, and you are logged in to M2.

How to start an M2 session from Swivl Capture

  1. Open the Capture app.

  2. Connect your CX Robot.

  3. On the home screen, tap the M2 app in the additional apps section.

  4. Confirm the launch prompt. M2 app will open automatically. If M2 app is not installed, you’ll be redirected to the app store. If you are not logged in, you’ll see the login screen.

  5. Start your M2 app session. CX Robot audio is already connected from your previous step, and you can use the Record button within the M2 app to capture video.

Required:

1. You must launch the M2 app from Swivl Capture first

This is required for CX Robot audio to work properly. If you open M2 app directly first instead of starting from Swivl Capture, CX Robot audio will not connect and you may see an “audio unavailable” screen.

2. Landscape mode is required

When the CX Robot is connected, the app is locked to landscape mode. Portrait mode is not supported.

3. CX Robot connection is required during the session

If the CX Robot disconnects during a session for any reason, the session pauses, recording stops, and an error screen will appear. You must reconnect the CX Robot to continue.

4. Audio output is routed through the CX Robot

When connected, the CX Robot handles both audio input and output. Device sound is routed through either a headset connected to the remote or a device connected through the Robot’s USB port. If nothing is connected for audio output, you will not hear playback. This is expected behavior.

What happens if the marker disconnects?

If the marker disconnects, tracking and audio will also stop. You’ll see a popup with two options:

  • Reconnect
  • Switch to your device's internal microphone

Troubleshooting

If the integration is not working as expected, verify the following:

  • Did you launch M2 app from Swivl Capture first?
  • Is the CX Robot connected?
  • Is the CX marker connected?
  • Is your device in landscape mode?
