M2 User Dashboard

📖 M2: Understanding the Activity Dashboard

The Dashboard is your central hub for viewing and managing your activities. After completing a teaching activity or assigning a reflection, the Dashboard displays organized feedback and insights all in one place.

Organized by activity

The Dashboard displays one activity at a time, making it easier to review your work in an organized, focused way.

Key features of the Dashboard layout:

  • Activity selector dropdown: Located at the top left of the dashboard, use this dropdown to navigate between different activities within a group. Select any previous activity to view its details.
  • Group selector: The current group is displayed at the top, so you always know which class you're viewing.
  • New activity: Clicking "New activity" will create a new activity within the same group

New activity

When you first create a new activity in your group, you’ll see two cards: Teaching Activity Settings and Assign Reflection.

Teaching Activity Settings

Click Activity Settings to make the following customizations.

  • Activity Name: Click the pencil icon to edit. This name will help you refer to the activity in the future.
  • Add Lesson Plan: Add your lesson plan before you teach a lesson and M2 will provide feedback using your lesson plan.
  • Focus for Feedback: Click the pencil icon to edit. Describe the area of your teaching you’d like M2 to focus on.
  • Single click in-ear audio:  From the dropdown menu, you can select one language for any of your group participants that will be using M2’s In-Ear Lesson Translation Summaries for Students. A participant summary provides a short summary (approximately 30 seconds) in the selected language to the participants.
  • M2 Eyes: Toggle the animated eyes screen saver on or off based on your preferences.
  • Delete Activity: Delete any unwanted activities but clicking on the trashcan.

Assign Reflection

Click Assign Reflection to customize and assign a reflection activity for your group participants. Learn more about setting up a reflection for your group.

After an Activity

After an activity, the Dashboard will show several additional cards.

  • My Takeaways
  • My Feedback (includes transcript and video if recorded)
  • Class Summary
  • Reflection cards (if assigned)
  • Guide cards (if assigned)
  • Chat With M2
  • Talk It Out (Teacher verbal reflection)

My Takeaways

These are two high-level recommendations based on everything that happened during your teaching activity. Takeaways are based on:

  • Your teaching feedback
  • Guide results (if assigned)
  • Reflection responses (if assigned)

My Feedback

My Feedback is where you'll find detailed teaching feedback, the transcript of your teaching activity, and any videos that you recorded during the teaching activity.

Feedback Chunks

Your teaching feedback is organized into lesson sections or “chunks”. Each chunk of feedback includes:

  • A short descriptive heading
  • A quick reminder of events during this part of the lesson
  • Encouragement and suggestions
  • Transcript for this chunk
  • M2 score, from 1-4, reporting the level of engagement during this chunk

Each section can be expanded to show the transcript for that chunk.

Rubric Scores

If your administrator has configured custom rubrics, you'll see your scores at the top of My Feedback with explanatory feedback for each score.

Sharing Your Feedback

Tap the three dots icon in the upper right of My Feedback to:

  • Copy link: Share a link to your My Feedback card with colleagues or coaches (excludes student work for privacy)
  • Download transcript: Get a standalone copy of your lesson transcript

Download Transcript

M2 will create a transcript of the entire activity.  The whole transcript can be found in the My Feedback box on the web version of M2 (mirrortalk.ai). Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner to download.

Talk It Out

The post-M2 personal verbal reflection is located on the activity dashboard after an M2 teaching session finishes and feedback is created. Teacher can start the Web-only Talk It Out flow and the completed reflection remains visible to managers (if part of a shared group) and private from students / participants or other non-manager members.

Video

If recorded, the video can be found in the My Feedback box on the web version of M2 (mirrortalk.ai). Click on the video icon to open the recording.  Here you can click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner to send to Reflectivity, download the recording or delete the recording.

Class Summary

After at least five minutes of activity, M2 will automatically generate a summary of your teaching activity. Click the Class Summary card for access to the Translate and Copy buttons. The summary can be translated into several different languages, and you can copy the text to distribute to other platforms.

Reflections and Guides

If you assign a Reflection or Guide as part of your teaching activity, a new card will appear, which includes the name and instructions for the Reflection or Guide.

As group participants complete the Reflection or Guide, a new card will appear for each submission.

Chat With M2

This piece of M2 allows you to reflect, ask questions, or set goals both before and after your lesson. Log into your M2 app account online or your phone to Chat With M2. Simply click on the [Chat With M2] button inside the activity that M2 assists with and begin!
