Quick M2 Setup Demonstration

Launch and Customize Your M2 Tips and Feedback

1. Turn on the M2 device and log into your MirrorTalk account. (For setup instructions, refer to the Step-by-Step Guide to Mirror.)

If you are a Team Admin, please first go to the System Prompt section on MirrorTalk.ai to adjust the feedback and live tips for your organization. The System Prompt guides the live tips and feedback for all teachers and other users of M2 devices of your team.

2. Select the default activity language for M2 to communicate with you and provide feedback by choosing it in your Profile.

Click "Start" to start a session. That’s it—the M2 session has begun!

To customize your activity, select the “Edit activity” button at the top of your screen. A customization pop-up will appear, allowing you to enter specific instructions (Focus for Feedback, participant summary language, etc.) or name the activity. Once you're done, click the close button to proceed.

3. The session will begin, and M2 will listen, providing guidance at selected time intervals. You can interact with M2 in two ways:
Hold to Speak — Use this when you want to ask M2 a specific question. Press and hold the on-screen button or the center button on the remote, speak your question, and M2 will respond directly.
Tap for Magic —  Use this when you want M2 to provide a reflective summary or insight.

Tap the button once (whether it shows Hold to Speak or Tap for Magic), and M2 will generate a statement based on the input collected during the session. If you want to skip what M2 is responding to your question or direction, simply click and hold Ask M2 button on your Remote for 3 seconds during the M2 answer. M2 response will stop and go into Listening Mode again.

👉 A single tap always starts Tap for Magic, while a long press always activates Hold to Speak—you don’t need to wait for the animation to switch between them.

4. All interactions with M2 will be saved and displayed on your device. If you need to pause the session, click the close button in the top-right corner. When ready to continue, click "Resume." A summary of your activity will be displayed on the dashboard card. The minimum session time is one minute. If the session lasts longer than one minute, tap on the activity card to choose whether you’d like to proceed with a personal reflection or assign the activity to your group.
(You can still resume the session by clicking "Resume" next to the activity name.)

5. When you are not engaging with M2 during the session, you can choose whether you want M2 to display open or closed eyes.

You can modify this in the Activity customization tab by selecting "Screen saver" -> "Active" or "Passive" eyes.

M2 Listening Control and Live Tips

The Listening toggle (top left of the screen) allows you to control when M2 is actively listening during an activity without leaving the session. When Listening is OFF, no audio is streamed to AI and no live tips or feedback are generated. In this mode, single-click functionality in Personal M2 (such as M2 Statement or Guide Mode setup) is disabled. However, you can still use the Ask M2 feature if needed. The red dot indicator will appear only when using Ask M2 or while gathering objectives in Guide Mode.

As for Live Tips, you can adjust how long each tip remains visible — for 1, 2, or 5 minutes. Live Tips provide a short summary of what was said during that time frame and offer actionable suggestions on how you can continue or improve your teaching. You can view these tips directly on the M2 screen or hear them through a Live In-Ear setup. To learn more, visit: Live In-Ear Tips for Educators

To end the session, click the close button. To receive a score and complete the activity, you need to complete a personal reflection.

Before starting a personal reflection, click the "Settings" button in the top-right corner to adjust your preferences for video, audio recording, or enabling a greeting.

5. Once you begin your personal reflection, M2 will prompt you with a general question to help guide your thoughts. After completing your reflection, it will be saved and displayed on your Dashboard, along with key details in the top-left corner.

Once Personal Reflection is completed, the activity will appear under the  Feedback tab.

Share My Activity Card to Group

You can also share your personal activity card with a group, but only with adult groups. All the information available to a person is also accessible to the coach. It is possible to unshare the activity at any time. Only the coach can see the card, not other participants. Higher education professors can share their cards with higher education student groups, and higher education students can do the same. Activities can be shared with individuals only via a weblink on the web.

You can share your activity from both M2 device and MirrorTalk web platform at mirrortalk.ai.
