Getting Started with Mirror

Set Up the Internet Connection on Your Mirror

Mirror Device supports various WiFi standards including WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal and 802.1x Enterprise. It features auto-detection and selection of the appropriate protocol for WPA/WPA2/WPA3 connections. For 802.1x Enterprise setups, a different configuration process is required.

Setting Up WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal

Method One: Simple Connection

  • Requirement: Only the WiFi password is needed.
  • Instructions: This recommended and simplest method requires you to enter the WiFi password when connecting to your network for the first time.

Turning Off Device MAC Randomization

In certain organizations, a device's Internet access is set up based on its MAC address (the permanent, not randomized, MAC address). This documentation addresses these situations.

What's the difference between a Hardware MAC address and Randomized MAC address?

A Hardware MAC address is a unique, factory-assigned ID for your device's internet connection. A randomized MAC address is a virtual disguise, different for each Wi-Fi you connect to, protecting your privacy by hiding your device's real ID.

For accessing internet in organizations using the device's physical MAC Address:

  • Navigate to the WiFi network of interest through Quick Settings.
  • Go to "Advanced", tap on "Privacy: Use randomized MAC (default)", and switch it to "Use device MAC"

Forgetting a WiFi Network

Open the WiFi networks via Quick Settings. Select the network of interest and press "Forget" to remove it from your device.

Setting Up 802.1x Enterprise WiFi

Access the WiFi networks screen from Quick Settings. Select or add a new network by choosing "Add network". Input your organization-specific settings, such as security type (e.g., WPA2-Enterprise), EAP method, and identity credentials.

What exactly you need to enter there is specific to your organization (For example, 802.1x Enterprise; Eduroam). Please contact your IT department in case you need this information. Below is an example of such settings.

  • Security: WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise
  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • CA certificate: Do not validate
  • (If asked) Domain: example.edu
  • Identity: Your username
  • Password: Your password
