Live Streaming with CX Robot

How to Record and Upload Live Streaming Sessions to Reflectivity (Teams) web platform

When you conduct a live streaming session with Swivl robot and Swivl Capture app, you can minimise the Swivl Capture app, open a 3rd party app, and continue to use Swivl tracking and Marker audio, but it does not record video through the Swivl Capture App.

  • With the Reflectivity team account, you can enable integration with Zoom. In this case, all your Zoom Cloud recording will be uploaded to Reflectivity (Teams) web platform as well. For more information, please check the following article: Live Streaming - Zoom Integration with Reflectivity (Teams)

If you record live-streams to the Zoom Cloud without Reflectivity-Zoom integration enabled, you will have to manually download videos from the Zoom Cloud and upload them to your Reflectivity (Teams) account.

To record your live-streamed meetings with Zoom and have them in your Reflectivity account, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Set up your Swivl robot and the mobile device for live-streaming (check possible live-streaming setups here).

    2. Click on the Zoom icon in the Swivl Capture app and start a meeting on your laptop/PC/mobile device.

    3. On the device which hosts the meeting, click on the Record button to start the recording.

    4. With Licensed Zoom account, you will have two options: Record to Computer or Record to the Cloud. Please select Record to Cloud.

If you use your mobile device with Zoom iOS or Zoom Android app and have Licensed Zoom account, you will have only one option in the mobile app - Record to the Cloud.

These recordings won't be saved to your system, but will instead be saved to an online folder. The recording will process and appear under My Recordings on the web after you have ended the meeting.  It is not possible to store the recording locally on an iOS or Android device.

However, every account can only save a certain amount of cloud recordings before running out of space. For information on how much space your account has, or how to buy more, check out Zoom's page on cloud recording.

Also here's a Zoom support link for your reference Recording on iOS and Android

    While recording using Zoom:

    1. If you are screen sharing, that's what is captured (along with a side bar of participants videos), there's no way to change this
    2. If you are not screen sharing, you can control what is captured (Gallery view vs speaker view). You can also force it to capture a single speaker by "spotlighting" it.
    3. Each separate recording will be uploaded as a separate file even if recordings were made during the same Zoom meeting.

If you do not have any paid Zoom membership and would like to record while streaming you need to start your Zoom meeting from a laptop because only the web version of Zoom allows for recording of a meeting for Zoom free users. Please use Swivl Capture app will stream your video regardless if you are the person who initiated the Zoom meeting. You can be a general participant and join someone else's Zoom meeting and still live-stream with Swivl.

We recommend using Integrated Audio setup while recording to computer.

These recordings will be saved to the local storage of your computer/laptop. If you are not sure where are your recording, please check the following article: Finding and viewing local recordings

Since such recordings occupy the computer storage space, please make sure you have enough storage available on your computer. As soon as recording is converted, you can upload it to your Reflectivity (Teams) account and delete the video from your computer to spare its storage.

    2. Click on the MS Teams icon in the Swivl Capture app and start a meeting on your laptop/PC/mobile device.

        Uploading.png

When you finish recording, hit "Save" and keep the webpage open until uploading is completed. If you have a large video or slower internet speed, you may need to adjust your computer settings so that the computer does not "go to sleep" before your video has been uploaded completely. If you close your window or the computer goes to sleep before the video has been completely recorded, you will lose the recording.

    8. Click Save. You can edit the title of the video, and add descriptions and tags.
