Teachers can now launch M2 directly from the Swivl Capture app while connected to a Swivl Robot. This creates a smoother classroom workflow: the Robot handles audio, video can be recorded during the session, and M2 continues to provide real-time AI guidance.
What this integration does
With this integration, you can launch M2 from the Capture app, use the Swivl Robot as the main audio source, record video during the session, and receive real-time AI guidance all in one flow. Recordings are saved as evidence, just like regular M2 recordings.
Before you start
Make sure your Swivl Robot is powered on and connected in the Capture app, M2 is installed on your device, and you are logged in to M2.
How to start an M2 session from Capture
Open the Capture app.
Connect your Swivl Robot.
On the home screen, tap the M2 option in the stream area.
Confirm the launch prompt. M2 will open automatically. If M2 is not installed, you’ll be redirected to the app store. If you are not logged in, you’ll see the login screen.
Start your M2 session. Robot audio is already connected, and you can use the Record button to capture video.
Important behavior to know
1. You must launch M2 from Capture
This is required for Robot audio to work properly. If you open M2 directly instead of starting from Capture, Robot audio will not connect and you may see an “audio unavailable” screen.
2. Landscape mode is required
When the Robot is connected, the app is locked to landscape mode. Portrait mode is not supported.
3. Robot connection is required during the session
If the Robot disconnects during a session, the session pauses, recording stops, and a blocking screen appears. You must reconnect the Robot to continue.
4. Audio output is routed through the Robot
When connected, the Robot handles both audio input and output. Device sound is routed through either a headset connected to the remote or a device connected through the Robot’s USB port. If nothing is connected for audio output, you will not hear playback. This is expected behavior.
What happens if the microphone disconnects?
If the microphone disconnects, you’ll see a popup with two options:
- Reconnect
- Switch to internal mic
Troubleshooting
If the integration is not working as expected, verify the following:
- Did you launch M2 from Capture?
- Is the Robot connected?
- Is the remote connected?
- Is the device in landscape mode?
Summary
This integration allows teachers to move from Capture into M2 in one flow, using the Swivl Robot for classroom audio while recording video and receiving AI coaching in real time. It is designed to make M2 sessions easier to run in real classroom environments.
