In-Ear Lesson Translation Summaries for Students

             Available for MirrorTalk M2 users or M2 Trial users (60 days)

In-ear lesson summaries personalize M2 session experiences for your students. Use secondary remotes with a USB-C headset connected to each one to enable students to hear a real-time, 30-second summary of the content that has been presented out loud by the teacher.

This is particularly helpful if the student missed some part of the lesson or has difficulties understanding the language and allows them to follow along in their native language.

Select the language for the in-ear lesson summary 

 

Before starting your M2 activity, open Teaching Activity Settings on the dashboard. In Settings, locate In-ear Participant Summary and select the preferred language your students should hear for lesson summaries.

Controls on the Marker:

1. The bottom center button triggers the Participant Summary for students.
2. The top center button provides on-demand tips for the educator.

 

! Please note that so far you can only select one language for all your secondary remotes. Soon you will be able to select different languages for your secondary remotes, stay tuned!

Student instructions

Turn on the secondary remote(s) and connect a USB-C headset to each one.  

All purchases of SW11450-T4 (Swivl M2 device w/multifunction mic accessories) will now include 3x 1-to-3 USB-C to audio splitters. This will allow 3 students to use 1 remote for In-Ear Lesson Translation Summaries

• 3.5mm audio jack headphones are not included

 

When the educator presses the bottom center button on the primary remote, M2 provides an in-ear summary in the language selected earlier during the session setup. Use the up and down buttons on the directional pad to adjust the volume.

 

 

 

The summary playback can be discontinued after the educator short-presses the center button while it is playing.

Note: if an educator requests a summary within 30 seconds of the last one being played, the same summary will be played again.

View student summaries

Summaries will be displayed in the chat, with a remote icon to differentiate them from tips and other M2 output.

USB-C to audio splitters

1-to-3 USB-C to audio splitters are included in remote docking station purchases or Swivl M2 device with multifunction mic accessories purchases. Otherwise, you can purchase 3 1-to-3 USB-C to audio splitters  separately on our store.

You can also use Swivl headphones or Apple model for connecting to your M2 Remote via USB-C connector and using them for in-ear coaching and ELL translation.
