How to Create and Share a Personal Observation Video from M2 app, M2 robot, or M2 web to Reflectivity

Available for M2 users

This guide explains how to record a personal observation video, download it from M2 web, and share it to Reflectivity.

This applies to:

  • Personal observation videos recorded on the M2 app on a phone or tablet, with no robot
  • Personal observation videos recorded on M2 robot
  • Personal observation videos recorded on M2 web at mirrortalk.ai

Important: You can record a personal observation video from the M2 app on a phone or tablet without a Swivl Robot. The phone uses its own camera and microphone. For an in-class session with a Swivl Robot, launch M2 from Swivl Capture so the robot handles the room audio and video. See CX Robot + M2 App Integration.

Adjust the camera view

The camera records in 180°, capturing a wide field of view.

To improve framing, adjust Camera Preview with the button in the top-right corner. Choose Wide, Standard, or Narrow.

Record a personal observation video on M2 robot

  1. Go to Personal.
  2. Select Start Teaching.
  3. Select the Video icon to begin the observation.
  4. When you finish, tap the red square button to stop recording.

If you record more than one video under the same activity card, the videos merge into one recording.

Important: Do not turn off the M2 robot immediately after recording. Allow 2–3 minutes for the video to upload.

For clearer audio and tracking, dock the remote at the back of the M2 robot. The remote is the microphone and helps M2 keep you in frame as you move.

AI feedback and observation tips

On a paid M2 plan, a Personal Activity with an observation video can include AI feedback and observation tips. They appear in Chat and in the Transcript.

You can still record observation videos after a trial or paid subscription ends. Paid AI features are not available on the Free plan. See What Happens After my M2 Trial or Paid Subscription Expires and I Get Downgraded to Free?
